What inspired the establishment of the Eastern Cape Women's Magazine are debatable questions relating to how many women are represented in radio, television, in the press, and film?
The Eastern Cape is recognized as one of the poorest provinces in South Africa. This is largely due to socio-economic economic challenges of the homelands where subsistence agriculture predominates. In the previous years people would relocate to other provinces for better jobs and opportunities mainly because they had better offerings.
It is due to this fact that the Women's Magazine is based in the Eastern Cape, so to help realize the province's quality and resources - thereby help promote and praise icons and areas that aren't even recognized while installing the pride of the province's heritage.
